Missy M Wallace

EXPERIENCE

Missy Wallace has a fascinating hybrid of leadership in corporate consulting, entrepreneurship, education, and faith-based global nonprofits. Rare is the leader who is agile working with a startup nonprofit in Mexico, a bank in Asia, tech startup in Nashville and churches around the world.  But her experiences have encompassed all of these.

  • She is the former Managing Director of Redeemer City to City (CTC) and its Global Faith and Work Initiative (GFWI).

  • Before moving to CTC, Missy was the founder and Executive Director of the Nashville Institute for Faith and Work (NIFW).

  • Prior to launching NIFW, Missy worked for more than a decade at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC; The Boston Consulting Group in Chicago, Singapore, Bangkok; and Time Warner in New York City. She also spent ten years in an independent school which she helped launch.

Her breadth of work in the corporate, nonprofit and education sectors give her a unique perspective on strategy, organizational design, team dynamics, and individual performance across industries.

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

Missy has a unique emphasis helping individual leaders understand their faith in light of their work in the world.  She believes deeply in the role of all work, not just nonprofit and church work, as part of God’s unfolding story. Katherine Alsdorf, Tim Keller, and Andy Crouch have been her greatest influencers in her theology of work.

Missy particularly enjoys creating spaces where the line between heaven and earth feels a little thinner However, Missy also believes in the common grace;  God brings good work into the work through anyone, regardless of religious preference..  Thus, Missy  is comfortable making faith as much or as little of the process as desired by the client.

Missy understands the reality of burnout. Having recently taken a sabbatical and walked a 500 mile pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago, she cares deeply about rhythms work pacing for individuals and teams.
